Eco boost wet belt

Featured Replies

Looks like there is indeed an electronic pressure control for the 1.0 ecoboost:

It is the yellow trace and it is keeping the oil pressure at 1.6 bar. When I  pressed on the accelerator, the duty cycle dropped to around 8% and oil pressure increased to around 3.7 bar. The pressure then dropped again to 1.6 bar.

Oil pressure is the cyan colour, engine rpm is the purple. The top two traces are coolant temperature and oil temperature.

The readings for my 1.5 car are similar but settle down to around 2 Bar, late 20's psi after warm up.

From memory an Oil Warning light illuminates at around 4psi.

Hi, hoping for some advice please.

I have in old 2014 focus eco boost.  Been an ok car so far but I have yo replace the belt as the vehicle is 10 years old.  I got a quote from Ford in excess of £1700.  Which is probably what the car is worth.  It has just under 60000 miles.  Unless I can find a more reasonable solution I think I will have to trade it in which I really don’t want to do but feel I have not much choice.  I tried asking on local FB pages for recommendations but looks like not many places are able/willing to take this on.  Any advice or recommendations greatly appreciated.  We are in Bexley. Thank you

See Danielle's entry on 26th September...the timing belt let go the week before she was due to have it replaced 😲
