Losing revs when changing down gears

Featured Replies

I have a 2017 focus ST line 1L ecoboost. When the fuel tank has between half and full tank of petrol, when it comes to braking and changing down gear I’m pretty much losing all revs to verge of stalling.
also when car is stationary there is a humming noise coming from the rear of the car.
these 2 issues I get an engine warning light, which has an error code for LAN or LAM sensor which I have had changed. Has anyone come across an issue like this before?

your description of things is not very clear

it seems you are saying it has a lumpy or low idle at part fuel load - not likely to be related

you then mention an EML light and some faults - that is far more likely to be related

have you checked the car's oil and coolant levels - these engines have a habit of letting down owners...   first port of call is to check the engine's mechanical health, then sort the EML / errors shown in diagnostics

the EML (as its correctly called in Europe) or CEL (as its incorrectly known as in USA) - its informing the owner that something on the Engine Management control has gone a long way off track, and to inform the user the Light comes on to say STOP using the car in this condition, as its doing harm to either the engine or the environment (and if you keep going you may kill it).
