I've just got a ford focus 2004 Lx 1.6 29790 miles it's got a full service to 28436 stamped in the book best advice when do I fit the cambelt as I'm not sure if it's been done all ready from new and on the internet you get told many different things I can do it myself and the timing kit and also wat about the water pump? Be very grateful for the advice 



Every 10 years maximum.

2004 vehicle should be changed at 2014 and then 2024, so it is due now !!

Thank you I did have a feeling it did need doing but wasn't 100% sure myself so I going to do it as it's a to good condition for a 20 year old car to risk it and im keeping it for years 👍

If this is a Mk2 then 1.6 petrol belt is recommended every 8 years.
