Salvage

Featured Replies

Any advice on where is good to sell a Ford focus eco  2014  for salvage please.  Potential project.  Wet belt went days before it was booked in for replacement.  Had a new clutch earlier this year and just under 60000 miles.  Condition is good considering the age of the vehicle. Therefor would be good if it could be saved from being crushed.  Bexley, DA14

Thank you

In a non-running condition and requiring a new engine it's very different to put a price on it. If it was fully running then it would have been worth between £4500 and £5000

See advert of a similar car for sale by a garage:  https://www.motors.co.uk/car-72133384/?store=43450&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw0t63BhAUEiwA5xP54egXpDgqHnYywPQO-xDDGAKF8INSMIVMv0OoPc7WMi00R_0P2NIaIRoCinAQAvD_BwE

Since a new engine will be about £3300 and the work involved then I'd say the most you could hope to get would be around £500, which is not much given that it looks in decent condition.

Personally I'd consider getting it repaired and at least you would be driving a car with a new engine and of known condition.

Best place to sell for the most money will be ebay auction.  They get the biggest audience for people wanting projects.  Though there are high fees to pay.  And you have to expect lots of silly questions.

You could also try Gumtree & Marketplace for free but the audience is much smaller on those.

Being a Titanium I can see it making around £1000 via a 7 day ebay auction.
