I have a focus mk1 and bought 1 of these i was suprised it works well but im wondering if i can leave it connected and give the battery a full charge over nite .has any1 else done this

No.  You need a battery charger to charge the battery.  A jump starter just briefly shocks the battery like a defibrillator. 

The charging it can do is only for low power devices like mobile phones.

Maybe instantly charge an EV with a defibrillator 🤣

Yeah, used my gb70 to charge my mobile multiple times  when I went to Italy in the back of a transit van with no usb ports etc.
