Warning lights/fault codes

Featured Replies

Hi everybody!

I have a warning lights/ fault code issue on my 2011 Focus 1.6 TIVCT Titanium Estate.

Went to use car this morning and it started "bonging" at me and the following messages came up on the info screen in this order, low speed safety system not available then BLIS right sensor fault service required, then BLIS left sensor fault service required! both the esp and lane change warning lights are lit up as well.

Car was perfectly fine when I used it yesterday, and has just stood overnight.

I connected my Forscan enabled laptop to the OBD port and tried to read fault codes but programme said it couldnt read all of the ECU,s and I could not clear the faults.

   Thoughts anyone.

     Regards Steve (AKA carpysmith)

Either low battery or an ABS sensor fault.

Hello all, bit of an update on this problem. I have ran Forscan again and have got the following fault codes. U0232 U0233 U053B and. U023A. Can anybody point me in the right direction with this? None of these codes will reset using Forscan! Battery voltage was 12.6 volts when I checked it after work today and car starts fine so I,m not sure it,s battery related? or could I be wrong???

Hi Oscar Jr and thanks for your input! I am wondering about possible water ingress/connector corrosion problems, especially after all the rain we had on Saturday! I had a quick look under the car after work today but could not find any conectors/plugs anywhere! do you know where I might find said connectors/plugs? I assume there must be some sort of connector somewhere around the luggage compartment area?, also are the two sensors on the corners of the rear bumper the ones for the BLIS system or are there more elsewhere??  Sorry for all the questions and thanks again for your help!

  Regards Steve.

12.6v is very good for a modern Ford battery.  So as you say, probably not that.  Starting fine is irrelevant though, we see plenty of low battery faults on here where the car still starts fine.

BLIS uses large radar boxes behind the bumper, they aren't visible with the bumper fitted.

Looking for water ingress around the boot is probably a good idea.  If you can access the cubby holes behind the rear wheel arches in the boot that's generally where the looms are fitted.

Final update (I hope!)

I,ve just had a dig around in the boot to look for signs of water ingress etc, didn,t find much, but while I was there I looked up which fuse controls the BLIS system (29 in the boot fuse box) and yes you,ve guessed it, the fuse (5amp) was faulty! couldn,t really tell if it had melted due to a short or if it had just broken but replaced it and the fault has gone and fuse has not blown again (yet)! I guess I will just leave it at that for now and see what happens! I feel such a berk for not checking that straight away but Cest la vie as they say in France LOL! Thanks to all those that offered suggestions!!!

Regards Steve.
