Hi. My fiesta keeps unlocking itself randomly when left locked and also whilst driving. Sometimes it also shows alarm triggered or the alarm randomly comes on. Also boot open sign has appeared a couple of times when driving and it definitely wasn’t open.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    Faulty tailgate latch, and/or faulty tailgate handle.

    Both quite a common failure on the Fiesta and Focus.

    I had a similar problem - as above it may well be the ridiculously over complicated electric tailgate latch - good news is that it's easy to change and I found one on an auction website near you for 14.95 GBP including P&P.

     

    ETA actually I remember now it isn't easy to change, as you have to take loads of trim off.  Look up 'how to' rather than doing it blind.

    Thank you. I have had a new tailgate latch put on a few days ago and so far so good 😀
