Owner unknown - anyone recognise this incomplete profile? 🤣

DVLA search says no MOT or tax.  I would inform the police.  Seems too new a car to be scrapped - it may be stolen.

9 year old diesel in a non-sports spec seems unlikely to have been stolen to me.

Just tried to check insurance but Askmid no longer allows checking cars that we don't own.

The location would help us understand what's happened here.  Personally I own a fairly 'new' car with no tax or MOT due to health issues, but it is parked safely and legally off-road.

Well that's a crock of excrement.

Askmid has always been like that.

It hasn't, Alex.  It was possible to check any vehicle, I'm not sure if people were supposed to, but, I've used it plenty of times.

Sorry, but it's said for years it's only for checking your own vehicle. It's probably just more obvious now.

Very true, Alex. 👍  It never stopped people though, I think there's more of a threat now in the wording to put people off.

Any car can be stolen even non-sports spec, any age,  any type of fuel.  Some people will nick anything.  Mine is 10 years old, non-sports spec but I shall continue to lock it !

If you're nicking a car, surely you go for the one that's most valuable and easiest to sell?  You're not restrained by costs like the rest of us.  I never once considered anyone would nick my diesel Titanium Focus's.  Even when I had the Fiesta ST there were always more desirable cars parked around it.

I also locked the cars.  But not to prevent vehicle theft, the immobiliser does that.  Just to prevent anything being easily stolen from the boot or glovebox.  But even then, they'll just break a window if they can see something worthwhile inside.

Any reputable thief would fetch it straight back when they realised it was a 1.0L auto. 😉

The amount of times I've forgotten to lock my cars, the fact that her indoors hasn't battered me is mightily surprising. 😕😂

It HAS always been like 'that' i.e. you always had to tick a box to confirm that the VRM entered was for a vehicle you owned.

The only thing I can see that's changed recently is the wording related to this 'term of use' is now a bit more 'in your face'.
