CyanLabs Update - Map Version F13 (2023) - EU (10 2024)

Featured Replies

Just updated to Map Version F13 (2023) - EU (10 2024) with CyanLabs.

F13.jpg

I am waiting for the official Ford version;  currently it is saying there is a map update, but all it offers is the Utility logger download.

@YOG any ideas on the size of the file?

I downloaded the new update through ford, but shows as 48.5kb which seems too small.

114GB Stick, 87.6GB left, so 26.4GB.

Just under 1 hour to install. Didn't check the download time, but it was pretty long!

The software that cyanlabs updater supply comes hot off the Ford servers.

Any errors? Any malfunctions?

Why? are you wanting to buy some ? 🤣

For example if the F11 map and the F12 map had some map mistakes. They showed inaccurate.

The F13 maps provided by Cyan-Labs are the exact same ones provided by Ford (when they get around to releasing them).

If there are errors on the Ford released F13 maps then they will be the same errors on those provided by Cyan-Labs.

I know but that's why i am asking if both the software and the map run fine.

Are these the correct zipped files?

There is no auto install inside.

Only these files are downloaded as only map update F13.

These files dont upate the map to F13 though, they just upgrade sync to 3.4.23188 which is already installed.

Dear All,

Is F13 still the current map release? I updated my Sync 3 software from 3.4.19200 to 3.4.23188 last May. I updated the maps from F8 to F12 last July. I checked for new software a few weeks ago and was told my Sync 3 was okay but there was a map update. I downloaded the zip file for use with my USB stick and noticed there was no "DONTINDX.MSA" file included with this update but used it anyway. The update took the best part of an hour and I sat with the ignition switched on at the end of my journey until I got the 'Installation complete' message and was told to switch off the ignition to start the next part of the process. I switched off, locked the car and went shopping. When I restarted it, I got the 'Installing software' message again and left it to it. I was surprised to see it was still installing software 30 minutes later when I got back home. I switched the car off nonetheless, removed the USB stick and started it again. I checked to see what the current software versions were. I saw Sync version 3.4.23188, Gracenote version 1.1.1.2316 (EU-0020) and Navigation Maps version F13. When I put the USB stick back in my PC there was no ".xml" file in the SyncMyRide folder for me to upload to the Ford website. I put this down to me switching the car off early. Last week I went for a long run and found the software still installing after an hour and a half. I switched off and found the same software versions as above, still no ".xml" file. I logged on to the Ford site yesterday to see if there was an update and was told the Sync 3 was okay but there was a map update again. I thought no surprise there because the last xml file I uploaded was at Map version F12. I downloaded "Map_49471_Update.zip" anyway and was surprised to see it was only 49KB in size. There was still no DONTINDX.MSA file when I unzipped the file to a freshly formatted exFAT USB stick, just the "autoinstall.lst" file and the SyncMyRide folder containing one file, "GB5T-14G386-AD.tar.gz". When I put the the stick in the car this time, the update was over in less than a minute and I was told the update would take effect next time I switched the car on. Putting the stick back in my PC, I noticed that this time the xml file had been generated at least. I uploaded it to the website and got a green tick, shortly followed by a message that Sync was up to date but there was a Map update available! Starting again just shows the same Map_49471_Update zip file. The question still stands, is F13 the latest and is there somewhere I'm not seeing on the Ford UK website that lists what the latest version is? I can see the US website lists what their latest Map version is. I pinged an email to the customer service address on the Ford UK site about this issue and was told "Your local Ford Dealer would be best equipped to assist you with this matter" 😕 I'm hoping for something more useful here thanks.

Join the club. I downloaded Map F13 back in Oct 2024 time. Even got an xml. file which I uploaded to Ford. Same as you "Sync 3.4 up to date" Map available. The small map file you are getting.

Contacted CRC and told Ford aware of the problem and were fixing it. If I were to check today I would bet it would say "Sync 3.4 up to date and Map available". If you check around the Forums quite a few of us with this problem. Don't hold your breath that anything will alter in the near future.

Yep exactly the same issue here, but as all has update ok and I unloaded the XML log file I am not too bothered.

I am sure that when there is an actual update, the right file will be available for download.

Authur, we live in hope.

Thanks for the feedback gents. It would help if Ford listed what the version number of their current Map software was somewhere obvious on their website. That way we would know if we were current without relying on the xml file. Too much to ask?

Forget Ford and their updates, just visit cyanlabs frequently, it doesn't take us long to have the Newest software made available.
