Snapped a bolt on rocker cover

Featured Replies

There’s a bolt snapped on my rocker cover in the middle of the cover. Crappy torque wrench. I noticed oil bubbling out of the bolt so tightened it and it just snapped. Am I better off drilling it and getting a tool to pull it or just take the rocker cover off and renew the gasket and obviously replace the broken bolt. Not done this before

I’d say you’re better off removing the cover so you can see better for doing the repair.

One option would be to use a stud extractor instead of drilling the whole bolt out - you’ll quite likely need the cover out of the way to get the extractor in anyhow.

Example of the process here

Cheers for that. Appreciate it.  Do You have any experience with intake manifolds? 🙈😂
