2014 smax DRL not working

Hi, the nearside drl on my 2014 smax has stopped working. 

I read they are an led controlled by the body module rather than a fused lamp? Not sure what could go wrong with it? Any experience of this?

Does anyone know the easiest way to remove it? Tried inner arch out, but there's too much in the way, do I need to drop the bottom cover off and get at it from beneath?

if its not working do I have to buy a whole new light fitting?

Thanks for any pointers.
