Interior Lights

Featured Replies

When I first get and sit in my car the interior light comes on and stay on unless i turn it off by the switch. I have had the car for a year and this has never been a problem until about 3 days ago. This is really annoying as i have to turn it off and back on again by the switch every time i get in the car. Would anyone know how to stop this happening other than just permanently leaving it switched off.

Does the dash still say 'door open' when it's closed?

It sounds like a faulty door switch but very odd that it still seems to detect the opening in the first place.

Is it definitely set to the doors position?

Sounds to me like the map reading light (as we used to call them) has been turned on. It will eventually go off when the car is locked, and come back on when the car is unlocked. I'm not familiar with the exact overhead lighting consul of the 2018 Fiesta ST but would expect it to be similar to most Ford models of that age.
