Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost thermostat replacement cost

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have been recommended many times to get a thermostat replacement on my 1.0 ecoboost as the engine doesn’t warm up to temperature correctly

It’s a 2015 Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost.
Ideally would get trustford to do it, so if anyone else has had them do it, it would be great to know how much it would roughly cost.

Thanks

Well since it's time to now get the wet belts changed on your 2015 Ecoboom 1.0 you can get it changed at the same time.

I'd personally look around and find a good independent garage rather than pay Ford rates.

The genuine thermostat is around £75.  (Or £140 including the full housing).  Plus around £100 for an hours labour at Ford.

As above though, this doesn't need to be a Ford job, and if the wetbelts haven't been changed, they are of far greater urgency than the stat.

Was quoted like 480 by vospers ford exeter for this job.

Go to an independent. A main dealer will be fitting a marked-up Ford part and charging a much higher labour rate.

I'd expect to pay around £20 for a known-brand thermostat and up to an hours labour (which will vary by location) for fitting. Do consider doing it yourself if you are mechanically minded. Youtube would will have videos illustrating well what the job entails.

Just remember the ecoboost has two thermostats. Was the Vospers quote for both? The bottom one is a much bigger job.
