2009 Titanium - No heat in cabin without max defrost mode on

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2009 1.6 petrol Titanium. I bought it in May and have not had to use the heaters till now as i only drive it to work and back once every 3 weeks (European truck driver).

I have found that the heaters will only supply warm air to the cabin after pressing the ‘Max defrost’ button for the windscreen, this automatically sets the temperature to max and also the blowers. If you wait a few minutes (always a different duration) then there is a loud clunk in the back of the dashboard and suddenly lots of lovely warm air.

I can then switch off the max defrost and adjust the fan speed etc but the heaters will only seems to stay very hot or just go cold.

If i switch the engine off even for a few minutes with the engine warm I have to go through this process again.

Any ideas what may be causing this and how to resolve it?

it has Climate control with heated windscreen button etc all in the centre dash panel.

Thankyou
