what is the largest tire size for a galaxy 2?

Featured Replies

For galaxy 2

Currently i have 235/45R18 tires. Allseasons. This is quite an expensive type of tire. I also miss some comfort (my previous car was a Volvo xc70, way more plush)

I can buy an used set which has 235/55R17. This is slightly larger than my current tires.

For what I can find the 235/45R18 tires are the largest tires that ford advises. But will 235/55R17 fit?

All the available/approved tyre sizes for your vehicle will be on the tyre pressure label either in the driver's door opening or the handbook

Are you sure that's the size of the replacements?  I'd expect 225/55/17.

Yes, I've seen a picture of the tires. They come from a ford kuga.

That is quite an official answer. And of course correct. But in my experience there are more possible tire sizes.

For instance:

235/50R17 is the same diameter,  width and circumference as 235/45R18. But the first isn't mentioned by ford

There are, but the official ones won't mess with your rolling circumference

Ah, fair enough.  It would be worth checking the offset on those as that can differ between models.
