My 1.0L ecoboost engine was replaced by ford two years ago

Featured Replies

So as the title says, my 1.0L ecoboost engine was replaced by ford two years ago. They gave me no detailed paper of what work was done. I had the ecoboom issue where the cylinders flooded. I was just curious if anyone knows if the wet belt would've been changed? It's on 94k and is 12 years old so if it wasn't I'd need to look into changing it if so

If that was a completely new engine, then it follows that everything in it, including the belts, would have been new also.

Maybe they sucked the old engine oil out and reused it. You just can't trust garages these days 🤣

So Ford replaced the engine on a 10 year old car FREE, and that was two years ago. You should have bought a lottery ticket the same day as your luck was definitely in 👍

He didn't actually say that.

Your age and mileage for the engine reset with the new one.

So you're 10 yrs from that, as long as you've been changing the oil correctly

True, but that makes the situation worse if you're suggesting that the OP paid for the work (many thousands of pounds most likely), and never asked what was done or even asked for an invoice 🙄

It's probably somewhere between the two - partly covered by goodwill gesture.
