Ford Focus 1.5 120hp TDCI 2015 - A/C Lose ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

When I bought my Ford Focus mk3.5 1.5 120 HP, a month ago, I had a problem with the air conditioning, it was not working... When I tested the car before buying it, I was with the seller. While I was driving, he turned on the air conditioning because the temperature that day was very high and the air conditioning worked very well right away.

When I bought the car after a few days, and also after a service, the air conditioning was not working. So, I went back to the seller and we went to his mechanic. We checked the amount of gas in the air conditioning and it was completely empty. The seller was shocked... So we tried to recharge the air conditioning for 20 minutes and the gas machine also did a check if it was leaking gas: the answer was nothing lost. After this recharge, the air conditioning worked very well but the next day I tried the air conditioning again and the air was not cold.

When I turn on the A/C button, I don't hear the compressor noise and the running motor doesn't change.

What could it be? Could it be that the amount of gas is not enough to run the A/C compressor? I read something about it...

Question would be, Why did you turn off the 'Air Conditioning' in the first place ?

It it quite likely the many seals in the air conditioning system have dried out (the gas contains a lubricant for the compressor) and the gas in the system has escaped to such a low level that the low pressure sensor is now prohibiting the compressor from running.

Take the car to an Air Conditioning re-gas garage and have the system re-filled. Then leave the AC turned on.

Remember that "AC" = Air Conditioning. It heats as well as cools.

Edit: if can help, when turn on the a/c, the radiator fan doesn't work. Now i don't remember if it's worked when do the recharge
