Focus rear hub nut

Featured Replies

Hi Guys. The manual gives 235 Newtons for tightening rear hub nuts. My torque wrench goes up to 196 Newtons. Am I anywhere near what it needs to safely be please? Many thanks

Have you got the "multi-washer cage" nut, or the new style one-piece nut?

Hi Yog multi washer cage

The old "multi-washer cage" nut should ideally only be used once.

It needs to be torqued to 235 Nm to apply the correct pre-load to the taper bearing.

The latest "one-piece" nut should be torqued to 110 Nm + 60 degrees for the correct pre-load.
