Focus Ecoboost Mk 1V

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im thinking of part exchanging my 2017 Ecoboost  125 ch  for a mk 1V 2021 from a Ford main dealer who had offered me a decent part ex price.

How do I tell  if it has a chain and not a wet belt!and is there anything else I should look out for?

Mk1V?  Do you mean Mk4?

All Mk4 Focus 1.0 have the chain engine.  BUT they still have a wetbelt for the oil pump.

You want to change it because of wetbelt only?

Not only because of wet belt as I replaced mine last year. Just want to upgrade it to a later models with a bit more room.  Although it would be good to have the chain instead  of a wet belt.

Ironically that now means the 2021 would need it's oil pump belt (which is virtually as expensive to do) replaced earlier.

I think it is better to keep a car already know instead of buying a used one.
