2010 fiesta windscreen dashboard vent no air

Featured Replies

Hi...I'm having problems getting air through the dashboard vent which blows directly onto windscreen.

Lots of power through climate control unito

Hot and cold air comes out of all other vents..but none outta the windscreen one...I had the door blend actuator replaced a few years ago because of the clicking noise...

Could it be this again even if I have no clicking noise ATM

Any advice would be appreciated

I think the direction flap is manually controlled by a cable on these.

The noisy flap is the one for temperature blend which is electronically controlled.

You can probably see the screen vent mechanism from the passenger footwell.  There's a big white cog on the side of the HVAC box with some levers and rods connected around it.  Should be easy to see if any of those have come off.  If you can't see any at all then it may well be electronic control after all.

Thanks for the reply..I will have a look to see if I can find the white cog...

The climate control panel is a push button type so I imagine it will be electric...

Would an auto electrician be able to sort this out ?

Ah, it's quite rare to get electronic climate control on a 2010 Fiesta so I assumed it was the standard version.

You are right that the push button direction will be fully electronic and controlled by some sort of actuator.

The front panel can be bought cheaply on eBay, and contains the electronics that should tell the actuator to move the flaps, so if you want to try a quick fix, you could just swap the panel with a used one.  That would be cheaper than getting an auto electrician to check the wiring.

If that doesn't work then it could still be a fault with the actuator, which I assume is in roughly the same place as the manual models on the passenger side.  I don't think it'll be a damaged wire which is really what an auto-electricians job would be.

Many thanks again for the advise...it's a titanium model(not sure if that makes any difference)

I've seen like for like replacement climate control on eBay for £20 so quite a cheap fix...if it's that...

I will order one and see if that fixes it
