No pressure to washer pump front & back

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Ok so I tried to be clever and remove the rear ford badge as it needed replacing, I did not use heat as I was worried I would mess the paint work up, so I used a drill to create a hole to jimmy it off, I stupidly drilled straight through into the boot wiring.

I immediately lost the ability to open the boot when the car was unlocked with the fob, I had to double click on the key fob boot button to open it, I lost power for the number plate light, I also lost the jet wash spray to front and back.

I had an auto electrician fix the wiring that I had drilled into, restoring the ability to open the boot and the light to the number plate. However the washer jets were still not working on the front and back.

The car went into the garage yesterday, they can't get any pressure to the pump. They have tried 3 different pumps and cleared the lines to the jets. They can hear the pump power up so its not a power issue, nothing is coming out front or rear when they are powered up. They have said the old pump is definitely not working. There is fluid in the tank. I am 100% sure my handy work has caused this issue. Any ideas what to try next ?

Thanks

If you can hear the pump working and have even changed the pump and cleared the lines then this may not work, (You could also have a kink in the hose at the bonnet hinge and where the hose runs into the tailgate), but try it.

Flush the bottle out with a hose for a minute or so

syphon out half of the bottle

add 5 plus steradent tablets and leave overnight

run the solution through the front and back washers until empty

add 1 litre of water

flush that through both front and back

fill up with screenwash

the resevoir bottle can gum up different screenwashes can set like concrete removal of the bottle and pump to thoughly clean is the only route, theres also a filte in there i had to hit mine witha hammer to clear it. hence the steradent comment above.
