Upgraded thermostat for 1.4 TDCI?

Featured Replies

Hello,
My 2004 Fiesta had hard time to keep operating temperature. Especially during winter time, it would rarely go into the middle of the gauge, it would stay at the second marking on the dial.
So I replaced the thermostat, it was leaking a bit anyways. Colorstat was the only brand I could find.
It fixed the problem at first, even in the middle of the winter, car would work at optimal temp. but after a year and 30k KM later, I'm having the exact same problem. Also it leaks a bit again.

Probably that stupid plastic housing get temperature stress bends and starts leaking. So is there a metal one? If not, is there a reliable brand which will last more than a year?
I can't find original Ford one here. Should I get a Gates maybe?
