2010 1.6 diesel ECU bolts

Featured Replies

My ecu is not secured. Theres a screw through the cover into a whole at the top but thats about it. Its just flapping against the battery tray. Can someone direct me towards what bolts/screws I need to re secure it please.

8v or 16v 1.6 TDCI?  The ECU setup is different for each.

There should be screws holding the bracket to the battery box.  Then nuts holding the ECU to the bracket.  There is also a single tamper-proof screw that should prevent access to the plug.

16v I think. Tzja? 95hp version in a zetec s.

It seems to only be secured by one screw in the cover and possibly only one in the ecu. Its a two part cover if that helps. I can take a short video in a bit.

TZJA with 95bhp is the 8v version.  (16v was only 90bhp)

Your setup should look like this:

Thank you. So seems im missing the hn1 nut at the bottom, and possibly another screw in the 12A659 position. That or they are just undone and I cant see down there. Will check. Cheers.

Part number and spec for HN1 if you do need it:

mine has these tabs that seem to screw into the bottom of the battery tray on those two little stumps. How do i attatch that without removing the whole ecu coz they go up into the bottom. Gonna be awkward.

No idea.  That doesn't look anything like the parts catalogue.

Fair enough. Gonna get some 12mm coz 14 arent regular and faff at awkward angles. The original one out of the top was still there and fits thread wise so assuming i can get away with them

Not enough access. Remains detatched. My ecu is on studs all round and has the security cage thing on the top wire so cant get it off the panel. Bit of an *****.
