Brighter reversing lights

Featured Replies

As title I'm looking for some brighter reverse bulbs so I can see behind whilst reversing in unlit areas. What do people recommend?

Very probably the same as they have recommended in the other thread 🤣

Not everyone frequents the focus forums and I'm asking for a fiesta hence my own thread in the correct forum

could always get a reverse camera and some led bulbs... aliexpress do great deals on both

Not needed to bother on the Mk 8 as the twin reverse lights are pretty good.

A Mk 3 Leon I had previously, though, had a single reverse light which was abysmal. On that, an LED replacement was a big improvement.

I echo what Chris is asking.  Which are the most appropriate  recommended  reversing LED bulbs with a genuine shunt device/resistor to avoid bulb failure alarms?

I have the same visibilty problem with reversing at night.

I believe there are some advertised out there that do not work.

Thanks.  I note they are specified 'Off Road' but I realise that this is simply legal cover for the seller. I'll probably order some.  No MOT issues I take it?

Years ago (and I mean years) I would have just bolted a spotlight to the rear bumber (also illegal) !

Also the bumper.

Never had an issue with them on an MOT with them, Alan.  They've been fitted for 2 MOT's now.

Reverse lamps are only part of the MOT for cars registered from 2009 onwards.

They must be secure, white in colour, and switch on & off correctly.  There are no requirements for the type of bulb used.

I tried a pair of ultra-bright LED reverse bulbs yesterday that were blindingly bright with a lot of scatter although they lit up a large area. I couldn't in clear conscience take them out onto the public road. I have removed them and used them as a replacement bulb for the boot light. I have installed brighter LED number plate lights that illuminate the floor I believe this is a better option as there is no issue with glare.

This duplicated thread sure is confusing! 🤔

Personally, I find thread search particularly hard to use on this forum. I do a topic search and it takes me everywhere else but where I want to go. Might be just me but could be why threads get duplicated.

It's just you. I'm sure everyone here will confirm the forum search system is excellent and "faultless to a tee" 🤣🤣🤣

Only kidding it's total ##@$

I absolutely concur! I can't even find threads I've contributed to. I now find it much more accurate by using standard, 'google' and starting off with 'Ford Owners Club', and the topic I'm looking for, it's quite accurate...
