Why is no one celebrating hetrosexual man?

Featured Replies

Have been with the Halifax bank for decades but was distressed to see the following graphic on their local branch window.

I feel increasingly isolated being an elderly male, pronoun him/he, hetrosexual, that people now seem to scorn. I genuinely have no ill feeling to others, but why do companies feel this overriding urge to scream their woke agenda?

Is this just me?

Because .............

they're in a hurry to go woke and then BROKE 🤣🤣🤣

I'll add them to my long list of companies I no longer feel able to deal with.

Did you not celebrate international mens day?

Was 19th Nov.

I did order some decals for Halifax to put up, but apparently it coincided with national banking woke day 😂

It wasn't widely publicised and no companies I know of had it in their windows so I certainly missed it 😟

My company mentions every day of apparent importance.

Fancy sharing the list? 😂😂😂

I've never generated an official one but have the same thought of if you are pushing this down my throat I will be staying clear of your business as much as possible

I too have a list lol I've just added Jaguar to mine, not that I was in the market, but there's a principle at stake 😂

No. People are what they are, but why certain segments of the population should be celebrated (and what it has to do with a bank) escapes me.

Homosexuality (for example) was a criminal offence well into my adolescence, which I always felt was very wrong, but equally I don't see how this stuff is "right".

One here for starters:

Pleasantly surprised to see minimal companies I have any connections with on the list. I'm surprised to see Wickes there. Not sure any others surprised me. A lot of public sector within the list. Don't think that's a surprise.

I am actually flabbergasted that a DIY/trade company has taken this position. Almost as clueless as Jaguar on who there audience were..

A new Wickes opened not far from me recently but I'll revert to B&Q / Screwfix or Toolstation from now on. I just don't understand why these CEOs & COOs make these divisive proclamations that impact the business share price significantly yet still retain there positions. If I cost my company a significant amount of money due to making politically charged comments I'm pretty sure I'd be getting a visit from HR as a minimum.

If you think that's bad, you should see some of the comments that Ben & Jerry come out with, and they make ice cream!

Yes, very chilling 🤣

I was quite surprised to learn that when the deal to sell out to Unilever was done, they were allowed "editorial independence" to continue to spout their views. They even sued their own parent company over a deal in Israel that they claimed violated Unilevers pledge to stop selling in the region as a show of support for the Palestinian cause.

I believe Unilever have had enough and are planning to exit the ice cream business in the next year or so, including spinning off Ben & Jerrys, hopefully to the other planet that they already believe they are on.

I'm celebrating with you brother.
