ST Line - Sport Mode

Featured Replies

This has probably been asked a thousand times, so apologies, but struggling to get clarity on this.

Have a MK8 Fiesta ST Line (2020) and curious to know what Sport Mode actually does. There are obvious differences eg: acceleration, but can anyone break it down for me please?

Also, does the MK8 ST Line have an active exhaust?

Thanks very much.

Well, the Ford owners manual isn't much use on this subject (below).

Can depend on exactly which engine you have, but normally just sharpens up the accelerator response, ie you don't have to push as far for the same effect. No increase in total power though. Not sure if it's supposed to weight up the steering on the ST-L, we're not even that sure about the ST:

On the MHEV mdels, some owners report regen is keener in sport. Others have said the opposite.😀

Only the ST has an active exhaust.

Thanks for the additional info. There does seem to be plenty info when it comes to the ST but less so for the ST Line. Perhaps the same applies to both? It’s a 1.0 Ecoboost engine I have. Thanks again 😊

I assumed it would be, unless you had one of the fairly rare diesels. I meant power output and MHEV or not.😀

I had a 2018 140ps 1.0 ST Line X prior to the ST - no sport mode on that, but I can't say I missed it.

I reckon it's a 125ps non-MHEV. :ninja:

That's quite rare. It only appeared for a short while before the lowest power ecoboost reverted to the 100ps.

Good news is (as far as we know) that version has chain cam drive rather than the wet belt of the 100ps.

Still has the oil pump wetbelt

It does. Can't win them all!😀

That's true Eric

Fiesta is a really good car. Shame about the wetbelts
