Indicator Left Side Malfunction

Featured Replies

Hi all

Having a slight issue at the moment with my left side indicator. I am trying to get to the bottom of the issue.

It is a 2014 Fiesta Zetec S. I believe its called a MK7.5?

Whether the car is on or off and the indicator bulb is engaged into the headlight unit it stays on constantly. However, my rear and wing mirror on the same side doesn't have this issue. When trying to indicate on the left it shows "Left Indicator Bulb Malfunction". So far to diagnose, I have tried:

- New Bulb

- New Headlight Unit

- Moved previous headlight unit to right side

- Tried opposite / working right side headlight to left side and still same issue.

I thought the next step would probably be the BCM but getting it coded will probably cost me north of £100 which I don't just want to go and spend to test it. Is there anything else anyone can recommend before actually going for a new BCM?

have you checked the plug connection to the lamp for corrosion?

The problem is very likely to be water ingress with the BCM.

If you can find a used BCM from a scrapyard or somewhere like eBay you can reload your own cars "AsBuilt" file using FORScan.

The replacement will need to be the same part (very last letter can be the same or higher)

Awesome! Thanks for the advice. I have one already which is a match from eBay. Will look into this. Is it easy to do alone or best to send off?
