Head gasket cost

Featured Replies

Just done a sniff test on my 2011 and found that he head has gone(been losing coolant). Off to local independent garage tomorrow, what kind of price am I looking at? Gutted to be fair only had the car 8 weeks.

Estimate £600-£750 for headgasket change with head skim and cambelt without knowing exactly which engine it is.

Just  had cam belt done when I bought it, it’s a 1.2 zetec

The belt has to come off again to remove the head unfortunately.

It's not good practice to reuse a belt but that decision will be up to you and your garage.

To be fair the cost of a new belt is probably the least of my worries.

Yes, that is the engine I'd based my quote on as that's what most Fiestas of this age had.  The 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 petrol (known as Sigma or Zetec/Zeta) are all almost identical for this job.
