Sync 3 - Android Auto - Apple CarPlay MISSING

Featured Replies

Android auto is no longer showing in my SYNC 3.

I've followed all the basic fixes from master resets to reinstalling the latest firmware, but to no avail. I can only assume I have to reinstall the Android Auto software....

I'm reluctant to take it to my ford dealership as I know they'll charge me through the nose for the update and as its just a software programme I feel I'm competent enough to reinstall it myself.

My question is do I need any special hardware and does anyone know where I can source the software?

My car is a 2018 Ford Focus ST Line-X - if that makes any difference...

Android Auto will only show on SYNC 3 if a device is connected. Try a different USB port or a different cable.

I'm using an AAWireless Two on my 2019 ST Line X and AA is working fine.

The Android Auto and Apple Carplay "software" is on the phone, not the infotainment.

Sync 3 just acts like a screen and speakers for the phone. The feature is built in to the main Sync 3 OS.

As said above, you need to check with different USB ports or cables, because if it doesn't connect, it won't show up. Also check that the USB ports can read mp3s or something from a USB stick.

Hi, just reading this post as I have exactly the same problem on my focus and wondering if you managed to resolve the issue somehow?

Thank you in advance!
