Focus cutting out

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I have a 2010 Focus 1.6 Titanium petrol. I have an issue where sometimes the engine will cut out as the idle revs have gone to low, this happens intermittently and I will only notice it when coming to a stop. There are no trouble codes when ths happens. On occasions the car will idle low or the revs may jump from 800 to 1200 and back again for a while.

I am not really sure what is best to check for this. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

When were the spark plugs last changed?

How old are the HT leads?

When was the air cleaner last changed?

Sparks were changed 12 months ago. Before I purchased car. Am sure to change them after Christmas.

HT leads I am not sure how old but am planning to get new ones when changing sparks

Air cleaner so you mean filter? If so was replaced 3 months ago.
