Code reading on mk2 2006 via dash possible?

Can the LCD dash display all trouble codes on  2006 focus so MK2? Got an option on a car that is not top far from me but apparently has EML on. Was going to ask the seller to check for codes via the dash. Thanks in advance

    You will need a code reader to find out for sure be careful what you buy with faults

    Absolutely not.

    The instrument cluster code display is meaningless.

    OK thanks for confirming will have to go and view the car and take laptop. Seems a bit fishy as mot was done yesterday and then EML came on after mot they have tried a new coil pack as someone advised might be that so fuse has been lit on the parts  cannon and now selling it. Is a variable cam timing model and apparently cambelt was done 3k miles ago. It is more than scrap money so might be a risk but need to get something cheap as Sons focus warrantied gearbox died and company is being funny about it but needs a car for work so cannot hang around for that argument.
