Ticking noise 1.0 Ecoboost - Help Please!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2017 mk8 ecoboost with 32k miles.

I have noticed that when the engine is warm and idling I can hear a loud ticking noise from inside the car. However, I Can't seem to hear it outside?

It goes away on slight revving of the engine.

Any ideas folks?

I'm hoping it's not the dreaded wetbelt 😥

That's normal for an EcoBoom. The time to worry is when it stops 🤣

inside the car.

Inside? Which part?

Could you record and upload it.

Also you should consider of changing wetbelt if it is the model that has wetbelt.

It does not come from a particular area (like the climate controls etc) it is just audible in the car. The car is booked in with Ford in Jan so I will see what they say.

Thanks
