Strange noise in neutral (MK7 2010 diesel)

Wondering if this is anything of concern or I’ve just noticed it since actually not having the radio etc on?

In neutral with the clutch disengaged there is what sounds like a whirring/clicking noise that noticeably goes away when engaging the clutch…

Vehicle very recently passed MOT and health check with no advisories that would indicate any pending clutch or gearbox issues

    Clutch & gearbox aren't tested during MOT.

    Sounds like the release bearing might be wearing out.  Probably best just to put the radio back on.
