Dash Cam fitment

Featured Replies

In my mk8 fiesta zetec I have a small attachment stuck the windscreen behind my rearview mirror. I’m guessing it is for a dash cam. Can anyone tell me if this is a standard item for a fiesta to have this attachment of if it is aftermarket? And possibly what camera may fit it?

Thanks IMG_0591.thumb.jpeg.122563a24632497f9ff6b3140956abe7.jpeg

It does indeed look like the mounting for a dashcam. It is most definitely an aftermarket addition and not a Ford item.

Perhaps a Chinese tracking bug? 🤣

This is a Nextbase powered dashcam base, it is similar: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nextbase-Click-Powered-Magnetic-Mount/dp/B07QFQLRFG/ref=asc_df_B07QFQLRFG?

I’m pretty sure you got it on your first try there. From what I can see on videos of that mount it’s the same as the one in my car. Thank you for your help

I concur, though owning a NextBase 222, I don't think it's an actual 'NextBase' mount though it is very similar. Usually there'd be some prominent branding.

Definitely Nextbase. The earlier ones are better as they have a suction cup and don't have to be stuck to the windscreen.

The current ones also can take a 'suction' mount, but you have to request it from NextBase as for cost cutting reasons, they only supply in the box a cheap sticker mount...
