Ford Focus Mk2 1.8 tdci injector firing order

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have an 09 plate 1.8 tdci Focus that is coming up with P1204 cylinder 4 injector circuit open/shorted. I was going to swap 2 injectors over to see if the fault moves to another cylinder but am not sure from what I have read online on what cylinder 4 means in this case. I believe it is number 4 in the firing order and not the furthest right of the cylinders. Can someone in the know tell me if it is the firing order and what the firing order is so I don't waste my time.

Thanks in advance.

Just unplug the far end injector and run the fault test again.  If it gives you a different fault code number then you know it's the wrong one.

I disconnected the plug on cylinder number 2 and the fault code P1202 came up which relates to cylinder number 2 so I am guessing that the error codes are in the order of the cylinder numbers. I took the plug off cylinder 4 which was very difficult to get off. Sprayed it with WD40 and worked it on and off a few times. Took it for a drive and so far it hasn't come back up. I hope, but don't expect, that this has cleared the fault.
