Mk2 - Front Anti Roll Bar Bushes Replacement

Featured Replies

Hi planning to replace the front ARB bushes as have identified a knock from the front left of the vehicle which is the ARB bush.

Is there any tips on removing these?

Can it be done in situ or does the subframe need to be dropped and steering rack removed?

Ignore, misread topic 🙄

@troy45 didn’t see what you wrote? Got any advice on best method? Thanks.

@willdudeuk

My reply wouldn’t have helped sorry as I thought you’d meant changing the wishbone bushes.

Hopefully someone can advise you, I’d guess that the subframe does need to be dropped sadly.

So I did manage to replace the ARB without dropping the subframe (phew!).

Replaced with a Polyurethane from PSB.

However I've still got a knock from the front left.

Unsure if it's the coil spring, drop link or something else like the subframe mount?

What I'd do it get a few mates and rock the car aggressively sideways, then you look around to see if you can pinpoint the noise.

Ok I’ll give that a go.

It’s got new lower track control arms so I don’t think it would be these or the related bushes.
