Ford Fiesta 03 gearbox m6 went out in it today got stuck in fourth gear couldn’t get it out eventually managed to get it into neutral but now same problem again can anybody help please

    1. Can you confirm which gearbox you have. i.e. manual or auto , 5 speed, 6 speed, CVT etc

    2. Might be low level of oil in the gearbox - so get that checked/check it yourself if you can.

    I struggling to remember if any MK6 2003 had a 6 speed gearbox?

    I'm sure the Mk6 only had a 5 speed box.

    Manuals were all 5 speed IB5 on Mk6.

    Full autos were 4 speed AW. 

    Semi-autos were 5 speed auto-shifting IB5.

    These are a normal 5 speed manual with a robotised clutch and gear shifter.

    First thing to ensure is your battery is performing well

    Then ensure the selector mechanism is adjusted and lubricated properly
