mk7 fiesta sav nav unit

Featured Replies

Hi.

I have a mk7 fiesta ecoboost 1.0 with inbuilt sat nav which has developed the white screen of death - a common

problem.  I want to take the unit out (F1BT18B955DB) and send it to a company for repair.  I've removed the radio

unit cover and it seems that all I have to do is remove two screws and unplug a couple of cables.  I'm wondering

if it's safe to do without first disconnecting the battery and okay to drive while the unit is away?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks, Ian

Hi,

Definitely safe to unplug without disconnecting the battery.

As long as the engine still starts without the screen then it'll be safe to drive.  I know some engine warning messages come up on that screen, so I would just double check that the engine starts after unplugging it, before you send it away.
