Fiesta won't rev when in gear.

Featured Replies

I had a weird issue with my Fiesta Zetec S that I still can't figure out.

While traveling around 50mph, my revs started to get limited until, before I knew it, I couldn't rev past 1000rpm while in gear first gear,  but if I held the clutch in and revved it was fine. Luckily I could pull in and the roads weren't busy!

No error codes have appeared, I've scanned using my own obd2 scanner and even had a garage confirm it with theirs, neither of us found anything.

It's got a new-ish clutch (around 900 miles old), all fluids are topped up as per and it's had regular maintenance.

Anyone ever have an issue like this?

There's nothing silly going on like your brake lights are stuck on is there?

If there's no codes then it sounds like a module is going down.

The car thinks you don't want to accelerate

You may need to take it to Ford for investigation.

It can't be the throttle body, I don't think, as it is revving
