Servicing/Maintenance

Featured Replies

Hi

Sorry, still relatively new to the ford fiesta world and wanted to check about servicing.

Bought our fiesta in May 2024, so with the car being registered in march 21, it had its service in march 2023. I then bought it a year later and they did a  mini service then.

I don't like the idea of every 2 years so wondered what you all tended to do please?

Also, where do I look for when other things are required, timing chain, belts etc?

You can check service intervals using the site linked below but it's not a simple process.

Need to create an account first.  Then go through free resources to service check sheets.  Then put in your details and choose which service you want (year/mileage).  Then check the additional service items for things like oil-pump wetbelt interval.  Then create a checksheet to see what the standard items are on that service.  There is currently no timing chain replacement interval, but it needs removing for the oil pump belt change so will be done at the same time.

Thanks very much. I'm guessing that you don't wait the 2 years for an oil change though?

I don't drive a Ford any more.  Many people on here do chose to have a yearly oil change on engines with wetbelts.

We alternate services, one year at Ford (as missus wants FFSH) and the next by me laying on the freezing cold drive in 0c weather using genuine Ford parts. Its easy enough, if not slightly messy.

Makes a change from my hitting keys all day at work!
