Car battery swap

Morning guys I got a question. My original car battery from ford says 75AH 700A but I've got a new one that says 70AH 680A. Question is that can I use the new one on that car. 2015 smax mk2

    You don't say what engine you have, but if it is a diesel then that new battery is under rated. Yes it will work in the short term but it won't perform as well and will overall have a shorter life.

    If Ford originally fitted a 75Ah 700A battery, it was because they calculated that was the minimum they could get away with. If a smaller capacity battery would have been OK then Ford would certainly have fitted it.

    Sorry it's a zetec 2.0 diseal. How could I find out the actual specs for the battery the cars meant to have. Places like euro car parts and gfs gives this type of battery. Ps I didn't by the new one it was a gift.

    Assuming again this is a 2.0 TDCi engine then the correct specification is 75Ah 700A, it's the standard battery that is used on all of those engines. Remember you will need a battery that is compatible with 'Stop/Start'
