Fiesta fob stuck on unlock

Featured Replies

07 Fiesta.  The fob seems stuck on unlock. It won't lock the car but if held near it without even pressing button the car unlocks and indicators flash etc. I put in a new battery a few months ago and it's dead so I think it's transmitting  all the time.  I put in a new battery yesterday and the car unlocked immediately. It's a nuisance having to go to driver's door to unlock with the spare key

I think you're right. Try stripping the board out of the fob and brush the lock switch with a dry toothbrush to see if it will free up. The little switches can be changed but it is a fiddly job for somebody good with a soldering iron so see if you can ger it going without removing it Normally, the switch breaks in a way that stops it from working but yours sounds like it has stuck down. You might be able to see more with magnification and if it is ok, feel the tactile click.
