Ford Transit Connect battery drain.

Featured Replies

Hi,

Thanks in advance for anyone who might be able to help me find the problem with this. The problem is with the stereo circuit in my Ford Transit Connect 2014 van. Overnight the battery goes completely dead so after testing with a multimeter I found a drain on fuse 67 which is for SYNC, Front Display Interface Module & GPS (not installed). Removing the fuse solves the problem but there’s no power to the stereo. I removed the main stereo unit, the stereo display and button pad but the battery still drains overnight. A few articles suggest replacing the BlueTooth module located above the glovebox but this isn’t there. Anybody able to shed any light on this?

Thanks again,

Chris.

That is the usual fault.

Are sure it's not there? They are very difficult to see as they are mounted very high above the glovebox and fitted to a metal bracket that covers most of the bottom of the Bluetooth unit when viewed from below.

Thanks for the reply Unofix.

I’ve had a thorough look but can’t see it. I’ll check again but there’s very little above the glovebox.

Thanks again, Chris.

Just had a look at the parts catalogue. From 2013 onwards the Bluetooth is part of the radio unit. There is no separate Bluetooth module 🙁

I did wonder if that was the case. I had a look everywhere and couldn’t see anything that resembled a BlueTooth module. It does refer to a SYNC module which I also can’t find.

Thanks, Chris.

Hi Unofix. Many thanks for the diagram. I can see from it I’ve removed all of these components apart from the aux outlets but the battery still goes flat so it’s still a real mystery at the moment.

Thanks,

Chris.
