2023 ford Focus program key

Featured Replies

My friends mrs has had her car stolen unfortunately in December, but has now been recovered. The only issue is there are no keys with vehicle and above the rear view mirror is a panel which has been stripped and wire hanging (not sure if is linked to any immobiliser as such).

Question- how much would a dealer charge to repair this, would it need to be recovered to a local dealer or a mobile one can attend. Will it be in the 1000s and is there any significance to that wire within square panel in roof by rear view mirror.

Any assistance very much welcomed.

As above

Should be but that's besides the point here i think there some complications with that, does anyone know how much it would be anyway.

Impossible to know without knowing what modules might be missing, what looms are damaged, any panels that need replacing.

You could be looking at £400-500 just for the keys.

The insurance company should ensure the vehicle is put back to it's before stolen condition as part of the theft claim.

If the keys have been stolen it needs new locks and keys

Even if the keys haven't been stolen, there is a risk they've been cloned, so I'd want all known keys wiped and new ones programmed.

As already stated, an impossible question for a forum to answer. If your home was broken in to, could you give a quote? You'd need to know if the front door had been damaged, or the frame broken, or the locking mechanism destroyed, needing replacement, or maybe just a new barrel. Far too many variables to even guess without seeing...

Any one who might be cynical could be thinking you've somehow acquired a stolen Fiesta and what to know how much to sort the keys out and replace the telematics unit.

As said above by more than one person, all of the recovery and repair work should be fully covered by the insurance. In fact I'm surprised that after 4 or 5 weeks that the insurance company haven't already taken ownership of the car.

Sorry to be more clear i said that there is a complication with the insurance that there was none, got a phone call from police saying they can collect as it has been found, went to Jackson pound, got insurance and the cars been collected via truck and now on the drive. Top area in roof has been ripped out SOS. and people are quoting 200 mark for 2 keys. Barrel etc... can be cut is included.

Called dealers as there was not much quote information here, stated about 150 but not available in a couple weeks.

Furthermore, I don't think the issue is the key its more once the key is made, there could be ripped wires and telemarics issues. Nevertheless we have to get the ball rolling on this, so what would anyone advise following the key programming stage.

To be fair I was only asking a quote for 2 keys on a keyless vehicle including programming on an estimate basis.

Maybe next time I shouldn't give the back story, I was trying to provide clarity but clearly it's had opposite affect.

No problem 👍

So to answer as best we can with the information we have.

Since this is a 2023 vehicle and it involves Keys and a missing Telematic module it will be a Ford dealer only job.

Genuine Ford Keyfobs are about £199 each (including programming) and you will need two as the process of replacing missing/stolen keys completely erases all other keys. The telematic module is very often on back-order and difficult for the Ford dealer to obtain. I think they are usually about £700 and have to be programmed to your vehicle.

Hope that kind of answers the question 🤔
