Error codes help please

Featured Replies

I have purchased a 2018 Ford Galaxy not long ago,  friend of mine had an ODB scanner so we plugged it in today. I have a number of different codes and was wondering if you guys can help solve the issues. I do not know what they mean and Google searches doesn't really help me understand either.

Codes.

P1712:61-6C Signal of transmission torque reduction request - (PCM)

U0100.00-20 Communication with engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) A is lost. - ABS

U3003:1C-60 Voltage of battery - ABS

U3003:16-68 Voltage of battery - ABS

B1111:53-20 Enable electric park brake - ABS

C0040:64-68 Switch A of brake pedal - ABS

B1202:01-28 Passenger enable indicator of restraint system - RCM

U3003:16-08 Voltage of battery - IPC

Are these codes something I should really be concerned about? How much would these cost me to fix? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

edit. I wanted to add the only issue I have noticed while driving is the stop/start. It sometimes work and sometimes doesn't work at all.

Get te battery tested

A lot of those codes relate to a low battery voltage.

Had the car been parked on a garage forecourt for a while before you bought it?

The stop start not always working can also be a symptom of a failing/low charged battery (but bear in mind there are multiple things that have to check out before it works anyway).

Get the battery and alternator tested (I think Halfords will do a free test), replace as necessary, then clear all the codes & see if any come back. On a 2018 car, if it still has the original battery, it will be coming to the end of its life anyway.

I brought the car and left it in the garage for 3-4 weeks, i will certainly have them checked.

How about the transmission torque reduction and the engine module code? I'm more concerned about them possibly being an expensive repair.

Clear all the DTC's they are mostly old and as already said are mostly to do with a flat battery.

After clearing all the DTC's recheck in a couple of days to see if any have returned.

I had the battery tested and no issues there, so i reset the DTC codes and waited 3 days to rescan.

Today I scanned again and received no errors at all, quite surprised but a good result.
