front wiper problem, after their fight

Featured Replies

Help please
Last night my mk2 front wipers had a fight. Once untangled driver side wiper only goes up once engine on and stalls
Left hand side seemed dead
Today removed fuse #1 and this enabled driver side wiper to work normally
When I remove fuse #83, non of them work
Forscan with all fuses in does not seem to see anything

Tried to disconnect battery and once connected with both fuses in both wipers done one turn  and then both stalled in the up position

So not sure what is the problem left side wiper motor?

is there wiper ecu ?

Or something else?

I suspect that the wiper motors have lost position and need to be recalibrated. I think it is the driver side motor which is the master and it feeds the position signal to the passenger side. It might be the other way round.

I'm not sure but if you follow the 'service procedure' it may put the two motors back in sync with each other.
