2005 ticking relay, turning lights ON when ignition Off

Featured Replies

2005 model 1.8tdci.

Can seem to had occasional electrical problems over the years which i ignored (until now) which drains my battery every night.

Sometimes problems disappeared so i just didn't think about it anymore.

Here is a quick list:

Driver side (only) park light front and rear (plus mirror light) turns on when ignition is off.

Takes 15 sec after i locked the car, then i hear a relay tick and lights comes on.

Every 15-30sec the relay keep ticking and lights will flash quick but still on.

I pull out all relays, and still the lights comes on.

So def not related to relay, but worth mentioning as there is more stuff happening than just the lights.

Inside the car i hear a "ding" sound and dash display turns on every time the relay click.

Windows arent "auto" and i need to hold the button to lower them.

The one-click function ceased to function.

Im also permanently missing dash illumination.

Only speedometer+screen and radio lights up.

And seat heater buttons.

All other buttons are dark.

Dash ilu dimmer also ceases to work, and speedometer display are always at 100% brightness.

Any tips?

Sounds like water ingress to the GEM or a problem with the instrument cluster solder joints.
