Mountune SMARTflash 215/225/235 advice

Featured Replies

Recently purchased my Fiesta ST Mrk 7 (2017) and am loving it! looking to get the Mountune SMARTflash 215/225/235 device and can see that many people opt to have the air filter box and intake tube off of the ST200 due to the mountune kit always being out of stock. Looking at the required hardware for the 225 map that's all that is recommended. I just wanted to see if anyone else had done this and how they've found it. If all good the possibility of up to 40ish extra BHP and torque figures is nice for around £805 (£599 for the SMARTflash & £204.50 for the OEM ST200 Parts).

any advice or experience of this would be great!

Don't know if you lurk on the STOC site but there are some reviews there which might be of interest:

yeh i've had a little read through and it seems to suggest its acceptable to use the ST200 parts but there really isnt many reviews out there and Mountune say its DIY and Mountune on email isnt great regarding fitting questions but i am really considering doing it as its a nice upgrade in torque and a little extra BHP

Yes, I'm sure you'll find the extra torque noticeable.

There's quite a lot on ST sites on Mountune and other mods, also on the ST200 vs Mountune airbox. Its all a few years back now though. I've linked a couple more threads that I could remember, but most current discussion is about the Mk 8 now, though even that's also history these days!

yeh its tough to find advice as they changed from the MP215 to the smartflash device and as you said most things are on the Mrk 8 now. the mountune intake kit is always out of stock from what i've read but most recommend the ST200 parts which is sound and all they recommend fitting for the M225 Map from the smartflash device. which following threads it would be around 215BHP ish at the flywheel and a nice uptake in torque figures which for the price i'd say is worth it, as i cant see many people saying 'don't do it' also looks like most insurance companies will allow the '215 upgrade' infact AXA was giving a cheaper price than what i paid anyway and with the better airflow it often gives a better MPG so eventually the upgrade will pay for itself so seems a no-brainer but also somehow to good to be true

Hi

If you do have any issues with insurance at all for this type of conversion then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.
