SMAX 2011 Titanium - changing my head unit to Android

Featured Replies

Hi everyone from Spain.

Im triying to upgrade my head unit with an Andoid one.

The new android comes with 2 antennas for GPS and 4G that has to connected to the back of the device with SMA conectors.

But when i dismounted the original head unit i see i have 3 fakra must disconected. BLUE + BLACK + WHITE (attached picture).

The Android head unit comes with AERIAL, so i supose i need to connect this FAKRA with an andapter like this:

But.... wich one is the antenna for the RADIO? Black, white or blue?

I also saw other conectors has 2 fakra and 1 aerial... so maybe need connect 2 of them... wich ones?

One of this fakra i supose is the GPS stock antenna... can i use a FAKRA to SMA adapter and plug my stock GPS antenna with with the new anddroid head unit??

Hope anyone can help me. Thanks

Blue is normally GPS or Wi-Fi

Get the head unit powered up and set up before fully installing and swap the connectors until the feature you want works, then bolt it in

Tks for your answer.

I found this:

Seems i can buy something an adapter like this: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B09WMTXBCQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

And supone have to connect white and black to aerial in new head unit... but not sure about it... because i don't find sense about merge RADIO and DAB into same serial... i supose DAB won't work anymore...

And if the blue fakra is for GPS... can i use an adaptor like this:   https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07C2VGGX8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And use my stock GPS antenna with my new head unit?

Tks

Sorry, Android units don't normally have DAB

Tether to your unit and use internet radio apps on Carplay/AA

Yes, you are right.

Just can add a DAB antenna as extra. Not built in antenna for DAB.

In fact... not sure if my stock head unit has DAB... i read the black and white conectors are for RADIO and BLUE for GPS. I think i bought the right cables. I will test and post results.

Updating...

Pls see attached

Connecting the 2x Fakra to radio Aerial amplified with the BLACK and WHITE fakra. (blue cable must connect to another blue cable are free in the wiring of the android head unit)

Connecting the Fakra to SMD adapter to the BLUE FAKRA in the car and in the GPS SMD in the Android Head unit.

With this 2 adapters you will have conected your new Android Head Unit to stock radio antenna and stock GPS antenna. No need to use the external antennas included by the chinese seller that sure is worst than stock ones.
