Not all ACM functions works after APIM retrofit

Featured Replies

Hi folks!

Since this is my first post here -nice to e-meet you all!🙂

I have a 2020 Fiesta with Sync 2.5 fitted from the factory and as I had added sign recognition, pre-collision assist etc., the next step was to add Sync 3, the whole APIM module I was missing.
Based on the diagrams I made a new harness from Sync 2.5 to Sync 3, bought a Sync 3 kit (APIM + ACM) and fitted it and.... it worked! The APIM, due to being from 2018, required a strategy update which was also successful, and all Sync 3 functions works correctly!

I only have one problem left - the configuration of the ACM module. Unfortunately, my car does not have a B&O (including DSP module, DACM etc.) and the ACM supplied with the APIM is from such a Fiesta. I managed to disable everything related to this in the APIM.

But I still have problems with the ACM.... due to this I have three functions not working in my ACM:
- Occupancy Mode (driver only / whole speakers equalization)
- Speed Compensated Volume
- and DAB

Sync 2.5 had DAB, so the antenna in the car is also prepared for DAB. Occupancy Mode as I change does not bring any change. Speed Compensated Volume has no effect depending on the speed.

Is anyone able to help me correctly configure the ACM for these functions, or do I need to replace the ACM with a version without B&O preparation?
I managed to set the number of speakers (6).

Current ACM: H1BT-18C815-VN

As-Built currently set in ACM attached to the topic.

Thanks for any help!

Possibly??:

Put the original ACM back in, it should be OK

@DaveT70, original ACM was Sync 2.5 - called CTR. It is integrated APIM and ACM in one module.

It can't be used as ACM unfortunately - but asbuilts are mostly similar 😞

Mmm, never thought of that, sorry.

The only other thing I can think of is:

Find a Fiesta that is the same spec as what yours now is. (or what yours should be)

Get the VIN for that car

Download the ACM Asbuilt data for that VIN

Install the ASbuilt data to your ACM

I tried 😞 Unfortunately there's no Fiesta with B&O ACM in non-B&O setup 😞

There's also no description of AsBuilt for this type of ACM in Forscan - it reads it as "CTR"

No, no, configure NO B&O

Non B&O ACMs have different as-builts as B&O.

Here are first lines of comparison between B&O and non-B&O ACMs:

That's what I'm suggesting

Install the asbuilt from a non B&O, Sync3 car, which matches your set up

The hardware is the same, or your may need to install non B&O firmware

This is impossible as blocks are different for both ACMs 😄

Will try this once I will find any files for install for module

Then change the head unit
